My work is a collaboration between plant, artist, and material.
— Tania McCamy
Tania began working in botanical casting in 2015 after meeting artist John Wayne Jackson in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Drawn to the craft’s blend of technical process and organic beauty, she spent more than a decade with John, immersed in the practice, developing her skills through hands-on collaboration, experimentation, and years of dedicated studio work. During this time, she helped create botanical sculptures and large-scale installations for homes, galleries, and commercial spaces throughout the United States.
Over the years, Tania refined and expanded the process into her own artistic language leading to the creation of her independent practice, Stoneleaf Studio, in 2025. While the work is informed by her years of experience with botanical casting, Stoneleaf Studio reflects Tania’s own evolving perspective and artistic vision: sculptures that honor the fleeting beauty of the natural world through enduring materials and meticulous handcraft.
